My only gripe with the software is that the auto-webpage login doesn't work with all browsers, in my experience it only works in IE but eh, I'm fine with manually putting in my creds. Overall rating of Devolution's Remote Desktop Manager: 8/10 I would just suggest having a backup of your file because it's a pain in the ass to restore all your entries by hand when you have 30-40 of them. I personally don't use Devolutions Cloud, I just have the file on my PC and then backs up to my NAS which in turn backs up to another off-site location. Even if you do use that I'm pretty sure it's one of those things where it's all encrypted on their end and they can't do anything to see it. On the privacy side of things, the only way Devolutions would be able to get a hold of your entries, usernames/passwords stored would be if you use Devolutions Cloud. It does make things easier instead of opening up a new PuTTY session or RDP session every time.I just open up RDM (Remote Desktop Manager) and double-click what I want to login to and BOOM I'm in. Devolutions Server (DVLS) seamlessly integrates with Remote Desktop Manager (RDM), which centralizes all remote connections on a unified platform. Examples of this would be dropbox, onedrive, mssql, mysql, mariadb, etc. The only benefit for actually purchasing the software would be to use a cloud/team solution to store your database file. The Remote Desktop Manager Agent can run commands on remote hosts, but what is really useful is that it can send. It works fantastic in a business environment!Īs for a personal environment, I do use it personally and the free edition will get you by for lab purposes. Devolutions Web Login is a free browser plugin used in conjunction with RDM, DVLS and DPH, which allows users to securely inject passwords into websites using credentials stored in their vaults. We use it with a MSSQL backend with 1000+ devices in it. MSP Employee here, we currently use this to remote and ssh into all of our clients devices. Does anybody on here use it? I ran a search through this subreddit and Homelab, and only found one random reference. But I've never heard of it before, and with the whole privacy thing heating up lately, it has me a tiny paranoid. This seems like a pretty sick application, especially for a small MSP owner, or someone who supports a few networks in his spare time. I can't help feeling like I'm missing something. You can configure VPN connections on a server or container level, so after setting it up, I can literally just open a server at home while I'm at work, and it automatically opens the VPN connection associated with the server and connects to the server. With a free license, you can configure RDP connections, but also VPN connections, Hyper-V / VMWare connections, SSH, even Teamviewer, to name a few. I stumbled on this app ( ) while looking for a RDP manager that doesn't suck like Microsoft's. Now you can click the “Notes” Icon on every Host Status Page in CheckMK, and it automatically opens a session to the device via your Remote Desktop Manager.Even typing this post, I feel like y'all are going to flame me.but I guess making n00b posts on r/Sysadmin is the first step to making kinda good posts on r/Sysadmin, right? The comparison is made with the “name” field from DPS, and the “title” from CheckMK. My Script gets all SSH, RDP, and Websessions from DPS Database, generates the corresponding URLs, and writes these via the REST API to CheckMK into the Host Attribute. This URL opens RDM and starts the session, e.g. You can open sessions in your Remote Desktop Manager via a special URL. automate-this/public-scripts () and run it.Download this script public-scripts/Update-RDMUrl at main.Powershell: Install-Module -Name SQLServer. Create a DB User with SELECT permissions on tables “DatabaseInfo” and “Connections” in your DPS Database.Create an API User with administrative rights.Set the “Notes URL for Hosts” to “$_HOSTMYCUSTOMATTRIBUTEID$”, in this example: “$_HOSTRDMURL$”.Create a “Custom Host Attribute” in Check MK, e.g.CheckMK and DPS/ Remote Desktop Manager are both awesome products, and you can definitely benefit from connecting these two.
